Please be aware that a cold calling scam seems to be running
again at the moment, the caller claims to be from "official sounding company" often "Microsoft"
and they are aware your computer is running slow/ has problems.
The next part of the call uses tactics to try to convince you
there are issues with your computer, often by showing you errors
in the event log (which are normally nothing to worry about)
sometimes you may be talked into giving access to the person
so they can remotely look at your computer - DO NOT DO THIS
Then they get to what they were after in the first place,
money, for
either software or a support contract.
